Harold is the name of a specific improv format developed and popularized in Chicago, the improv Mecca. It's done everywhere these days, and there are as many variations of it as there are kinds of chili.

Harold is, in fact, the basis of the Seinfeld show format (most improvisers know this...no one else does. But now you do!)
